Gig Checklist for Storytellers

This article created by The Patchwork Players of California. When you get booked to go tell stories (in performers lingo a “gig”) what should you bring along with you? Here is a copy of the items that we take along when we are off to a performance. Feel free to use it or adapt it.

Sign holder and sign Sand bags (to keep sign from blowing over if it’s windy) Bunge cords or ropes Large portable tub or bag for carrying things Luggage rack carrier Bag of rocks (to keep brochures from blowing away) Water Snacks Other food Kleenex First aid kit Sewing kit-including safety pins Extra change of clothes Business cards Brochures Mailing list sign up sheet, clipboard, and at least two pens Clipboard and set list Musical instruments Sound system: amp, microphones Extension cords Costumes and props for stories you will be performing Cash Copy of signed contract, along with an invoice Directions to the event, including a phone number to contact on the day of event Jacket or raingear, umbrella Cell phone Author Information:
