The Storyteller.net Crash of 2004!
Posted: 2004-08-29 By SNStaff

The great Storyteller.net crash of 2004! The good news- we have more new articles being posted this week. The tough news: Well, after nearly seven years of continuous presence on the Internet with only minimal down time, the server hosting Storyteller.net (and 11 of our other sites) went crashing, down down down. Screaming and taunting us, it’s been a long road back. MOST of the data has been saved and you will still find the articles, stories and tellers listed. We’ve learned a few things along the way- for example the current PHP programming for the site sure looks nice on the outside but on the inside turned out to be rather sloppy when someone needs to try to repair it. EEEK. So, we are rebuilding what’s missing and running on 90% right now. We also know that the pictures are down from the all the tellers’ directory pages and that the ability for tellers to edit their own pages also is out of commission for a bit. So, we exploring which webmaster can wade through the jungle of code and fix the problems and holes left. We’re glad you are with us and hope you can be patient while we do the repairs. We’ll let you know when things are back to normal.
