Press Release: New Grammy Award for Storytelling?
Posted: 2006-03-08 By SNStaff

Just received this press release from the NSN:
****
Hi Everyone --

Great news: several Governors for the National Recording Academy are submitting a proposal for a new Grammy category for the spoken word/oral tradition.

But here’s where we need your help: we need to demonstrate in the application that at least 80-100 storytelling recordings were produced between Oct. 1, 2004 -- Sept. 30, 2005.

Did you record a story [produced a CD or tape] during that time frame?

If so, we want to know!

IMMEDIATE TO DO:
Send the 1) name of the artist, 2) the name of the recording, and 3) the name of the recording company (even if self-produced) to Brenda Wong-Aoki at Wongaoki@aol.com

This material needs to be in Brenda’s hands by this Thursday March 9th!

NEXT ACTIIVTY TO DO:
Send Brenda a copy of your recording by March 25th:

Brenda Wong-Aoki
41 Parsons St., Suite A
San Francisco, CA 94118

Thank you all for your help and support. I hope this really happens and the Grammys create a category for us! Talk with you soon --
